Discussion & Documentation

Augustinus Thomann, a farmer from Worms, and his wife Sibilla arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard a Russian packet-boat named Svyatoi Pavel (St. Paul) under the command of the Lieutenant Fyedor Sornev.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Dietel on 1 July 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 41.

The 1767 census records that August Thomann came from the German village of Worms Rikon in the Kurmainz region.
