Thomson (Orlovskaya)*
Daniel Tomsen, a single farmer, arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.
Daniel Tamson [sic] is recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
Daniel Thomson and his wife Dorothea are recorded on the 1767 census of Orlovskaya in Household No. 85. They had settled there on 7 June 1767.
Daniel Thomson and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Orlovskaya in Household No. Or45.
Both the Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that Daniel Thomson came from the German town of Danzig.
There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
