Discussion & Documentation

Lorenz Dremel [sic], a miller (Müller), and his wife Helena arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 16 August 1766 aboard a galliot named Die Wachsamkeit (Vigilance) under the command of Skipper Jacob Heinrich Sager.

Lorentz Trummel and his wife Dorothea are recorded on a list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

It is not known in which colony Lorenz Trummel settled.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Lorenz Dremel [sic] came from the German region of Wertheim.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Trummel family among the Volga German colonies.
