Johann Heinrich von Anben, a farmer, his wife, and his stepchildren (surname: Burg) settled in the Volga German colony of Bauer on 20 July 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 17.
The 1767 census records that Johann Heinrich von Anben came from the German village of Burgwedel in the Holstein region.
