Discussion & Documentation

Johannes Wagner, son of Johann Conrad Wagner & Anna Maria Müller, was born 23 December 1723 in Langgöns, Hessen, Germany. His lineage is traced to Baltzer Wagner who was born there in 1620/1630.

Johannes Wagner married on 16 May 1752 in Rendel to Anna Margaretha Burbach.

Johannes Wagner, a farmer, his wife Anna, and children (Eva, age 14; Christina, age 12; Johann, age 9; Philipp, age 7; Conrad, age 4; Sebastian, age 6-weeks) arrived from Lübeck at the port in Oranienbaum on 17 July 1766 aboard a pink named Lev (Lion) under the command of Lieutenant Fyodor Fyodorov.

Johannes Wagner, a farmer, his wife Anna Margartha, and children (Eva, age 14; Christina, age 13; Johannes, age 10½; Johann Philipp, age 8; Johann Konrad, age 4) are recorded on the 1767 census of Frank in Household no. 85. They had arrived in Frank on 1 September 1767.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johannes Wagner came from the German region of Friedberg. The 1767 census records that he came from the German village of Rinteln [sic] in the region of Friedberg.
