Wagner (Kutter)
Philip Wagner, son of Anton Wagner from Calbach, & Anna Maria [surname not recorded], adopted daughter of Conrad Reuther from Lieblos, were married on 15 April 1766 in the Lutheran Church of Büdingen.
Philipp Wagner, a farmer, his wife Anna [Maria], and brother Johann [Adam] (age 18) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard the Russian galliot named Kronverk under the command of Lieutenant Dmitry Ilyin.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Kutter on 16 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Households No. 79 and 80.
The 1798 census of Kutter records in Household No. Kt45 that Adam Wagner is serving as a schoolteacher in Messer.
Both the Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that Philipp Wagner came from the German region of Isenburg.
