Ulrich Walz [sic], a weaver, and his wife Magdalena arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard the snow-brig named Maria Sophia under the command of Skipper Johann Bauert.
Ulrich Walzer, a craftsman (Handwerker), his wife Magdalena, and daughter Anna Margaretha (age 1) are recorded on the 1767 census of Urbach in Household No. 46. They settled there on 3 July 1767.
The 1798 census of Urbach (Household No. Ur26) records that Ulrich Walzer was living as a shepherd in Rosenheim.
Johann Michael Walzer and his brothers (Johann Heinrich & Johann Christian) and their families are recorded on the 1834 census of Urbach in Households No. 29, 54, & 59.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Ulrich Walz [sic] came from the German region of Württemberg. The 1767 census records that Ulrich Walzer came from the German village of Mühlried in the Württemberg region. [There is a Mühlried, but it is in Oberbayern rather than Württemberg.]
