Discussion & Documentation

Philipp Wamser, his wife Appolonia, and son Wilhelm (age 1) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 September 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Hans Karholm.

Philipp Wamser, his wife Appolonia, and son Wilhelm (age ¾) are recorded on a list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that son Wilhelm died in route.

It is not known in which colony they settled.

There are no known surviving male ilines of this Wamser family among the Volga German colonies.
