Discussion & Documentation

Heinrich Wasmuth, a single wheelwright, arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 29 July 1766 aboard a ship named Apollo under the command of Skipper Friedrich Detloff Mörenberg.

Heinrich Wasmuth is recorded on a list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

It is not known in which colony he settled.

Both the Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that Heinrich Wasmuth came from the German region of Friedberg.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Wasmuth family among the Volga German colonies.
