Peter Weiss, a soldier (Soldat), settled in the Volga German colony of Graf on 10 June 1766. He is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 33 along with his wife Elisabeth.

In 1788, Peter Weiss and his family moved from Graf to Pobochnaya.

The 1767 census records that Peter Weiss came from the German village of Sierck in France.
