Konrad Fenzel [sic], a single farmer, arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 16 August 1766 aboard a galliot named Die Wachsamkeit (Vigilance) under the command of Skipper Jacob Heinrich Sager.

Konrad Förster [sic], a baker (Bäcker), his [new] wife Eva, and daughter Kunigunda (age 8-days) are recorded on the 1767 census of Lauwe in Household No. 19. They had settled there on 5 September 1767.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Konrad Fenzel [sic] came from the German region of Nürnberg. The 1767 census records that Konrad Förster [sic] came from the German village of Karich [?] in the Berend [?] region.

Idt & Rauschenbach record this surname as Wenzel that settled in Lauwe.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Wenzel family among the Volga German colonies.
