There are two Werbach families that arrived in the Volga German colony of Hildmann on 14 May 1767. Their relationship is not recorded, but they are presumed to be father and son. They both arrived from Reval [Estonia] at the port of Oranienbaum on 31 May 1766 aboard the pink Slon under the command of Lieutenant Sergey Panov.

(1) Michael Werbach, a farmer, his wife Margaretha, and son Johann (age 11) arrived in Oranienbaum.

Michael Werbach (age 43), a farmer, his wife Katharina, and children ([step-daughter?] Elisabeth, age 15; Johannes, age 14) are recorded on the 1767 census of Hildmann in Household No. 7.

Widower Michael Werbach from Hildmann and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Köhler in Household No. Kl58.

(2) Christoph [sic] Werbach, a farmer, and his wife Elisabeth arrived in Oranienbaum.

Christian Werbach (age 21), a farmer, and his wife Elisabeth are recorded on the 1767 census of Hildmann in Household No. 8.

Christian Werbach and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Hildmann in Household No. Hd07 along with a note that he is working as a shepherd in the colony of Stephan.

Adam Werbach is recorded on the 1834 census of Mariental in Household No. 43.

Andreas Werbach from Hildmann and his family are recorded on the 1857 census of Josefstal in Household No. 41.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Michael Werbach came from the German region of Fulda and that Christoph Werbach came from the German region of Würzburg. The 1767 census records that both of them came from the German village of Gmünd in the Württemberg region.
