Discussion & Documentation

Joseph Werner, his wife Maria, and children (Anna, age 2½; Joseph, age 4-days) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 September 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Franz Nikolaus Schröder.

Joseph Werner, his wife Maria, and daughter Anna (age 2½) are recorded on a list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that all of them died en route.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Werner family among the Volga German colonies.
