Wetzel (Grimm)*
Johannes Wetzel, his wife Regina, and daughters (Johanna, age 14; Friederika, age 12; Elisabeth, age 6; Louisa, age 5) immigrated to Denmark (Schleswig-Holstein) arriving in Flensburg on 17 July 1761.
They were dismissed from the Danish colonies on 24 April 1765 and joined the migration to Russia.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Grimm and are recorded there on the 1775 census in Household No. 53.
The Eichhorns record that Johannes Wetzel came from the German region of Württemberg.
There do not appear to be any surviving male lines of this Wetzel family among the Volga German colonies.
