Wild (Laub)
Jakob Will, a farmer, and his wife Katharina arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the ship Die Neue Freiheit von Bremen under the command of Skipper Steingrawer.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Laub on 12 July 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 29.
In 1790, Jakob Will and his family moved from Laub to Preuss.
Later documents record this surname as Wild and Wilt.
The 1767 census records that Jakob Will came from the German village of Grebenhain in the Darmstadt region.
