Johannes Wilhelm, a farmer, and his wife Dorothea Elisabeth settled in the Volga German colony of Bauer on 20 July 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 24.
The 1767 census records that Johannes Wilhelm came from the German town of Lübeck.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Wilhelm family among the Volga German colonies.
