Nikolaus Zahn, a farmer, his wife Johanna, and children (Johann [Michael], age 16; Anna [Margaretha], age 15; Anna [Elisabeth], age 11; Johann [Peter], age 5) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 September 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Franz Nikolaus Schröder.
Nicolaus Zahn, his wife Juliana, and children (Johann, age 16½; Anna Margaretha, age 15¼; Anna Elisabeth, age 11; Johann Peter, age 5½) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that mother Juliana and son Johann Peter died en route.
Nikolaus Zahn, a farmer, his wife Margaretha, and children (Michael, age 18; Margaretha, age 14; Eisabeth, age 11) are recorded on an appendix to the 1767 census of Beauregard in Household No. 6 along with a note that they settled in the Volga German colony of Biberstein in 1768.
The 1767 census records that Nikolaus Zahn came from the German village of Mirnas [?].
There are no known surviving male lines of this Zahn family among the Volga German colonies.
