Andreas Zahn, a farmer, and his wife settled in the Volga German colony of Urbach on 3 July 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 34.

The 1767 census records that Andreas Zahn came from the German village of Querfurt in the Sachsen region.
