Kaspar Zern, a single farmer, arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 29 May 1766 aboard the galliot named Adler (Eagle) under the command of the Skipper Paul Adolph Drath.
He arrived in the Volga German colony of Dinkel on 12 May 1767 and is recorded there on the 1767 census along with his new wife Magdalena in Household No. 5.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Kaspar Zern came from the German region of Württemburg. The 1767 census records that Kaspar Zern came from the German village of Weske in the region of Württemburg.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Zern family among the Volga German colonies.
