Zilg (Warenburg)
Widower Peter Zilg, a farmer, and his son Johann Gottfried (age 10) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 June 1766 aboard the ship Die Vergelte Weintraube under the command of Skipper Anderson.
Orphan Gottlieb Zilg settled in the Volga German colony of Warenburg on 12 May 1767 and is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 177.
In 1788, Gottfried Zilg moved from Warenburg to Dinkel.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Peter Zilg came from the German region of Pfalz. The 1767 census records that Johann Gottfried Zilg came from the German village of Pak [?] in the Kurpfalz region.
