Johann Michael [sic] Zorn, from Gräfenhainichen, his wife, three sons, and one daughter are recorded on a list of those departing Dessau.
Martin Zorn, a cobbler (Schuhmacher), and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.
Martin Zorn, his wife Soph. Elisab., and sons (Johann Friedrich, age 6; Johann Gottfried, age 4; Johann Gottlieb, age 2½) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Orlovskaya on 7 June 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 19.
In 1783, Gottfried Zorn moved from Orlovskaya to Enders.
The 1767 census records that Martin Zorn came from the German village of Gräfenhainichen in the region of Dessau.
