Grabe (Messer)*
Magdalena Maria Grabe, daughter of blacksmith Johann Georg Grabe, was born in Veldenz on 20 April 1736.
Johann Georg Grabe and his family immigrated to Fahlenwerder in Brandenburg in 1747.
Magdalena Maria Grabe married Philipp Manweiler, son of Johann Adolph Manweiler & Maria Elisabeth Schleichel. [See Manweiler Family.]
Philipp Manweiler and his family immigrated to Schleswig-Holstein (Denmark) along with his father and family where they settled in Flensburg on 17 May 1762. They left Flensburg on 10 June 1763 and joined those moving to Russia.
Galbstadt, Altai Krai (Siberia)
Halbstadt was founded in 1908 by Mennonite Germans relocating from the Black Sea region. It was renamed Polgorod in 1914.
From 1938 to 1991, the community was called Nekrasovo.
Today, Galbstadt is located in the German National District of the Altai Krai.
