Maurer (Nieder-Monjou)*

Johann[es] Maurer, a single cobbler (Schuhmacher), is recorded on an appendix to the 1767 census of Kaneau in Household No. 63. He is believed to have settled in Nieder-Monjou.

In 1786, Johannes Maurer and his family moved from Nieder-Monjou to Fischer.

Johannes Maurer from Nieder-Monjou and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Fischer in Household No. Fs34.

Johann[es] (junior) Maurer is recorded on the 1834 census of Fischer in Household No. 5.

Johannes (junior) Maurer is recorded on the 1850 census of Fischer in Household No. 7.

Marx (Nieder-Monjou)*

Jakob Marx, a farmer, his wife Anna, and son Christian (age 2) are recorded on the 1767 census of Nieder-Monjou in Household No. 14. They had settled there on 23 July 1767.

In 1786, widow Anna Maria Marx and her children moved from Nieder-Monjou to Katharinenstadt. They are recorded there on the 1798 census in Household No. Ka112.

The 1767 census records that Jakob Marx came from the German region of Ansbach.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Marx family among the Volga German colonies.

Borg (Cäsarsfeld / Nieder-Monjou)

Nikolaus Borg, his wife Margaretha, and son Nikolaus (age 20) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 September 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Hans Karholm.

Traveling with them is Johann Borg and his wife Sophia. Johann is believed to be the son of Nikolaus.

Nicolaus Borck, his wife Margaretha, and son Nicoluas (age 20) are recorded on a list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767. Next to them on the list are Johann Borck and his wife Sophia.

Winter (Näb)

Christian Winter, a farmer, his wife Julianna, and children (Anna [Barbara], age 10; Johann [Kaspar], age 9; Maria, age 7) arrived from Lübeck at the port in Oranienbaum on 12 September 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.

Christian Winter, his wife Juliana, and children (Anna Barbara, age 10½; Joh. Caspar, age 9; Maria Elisabeth, age 7) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

Stürtz (Kind)

Michael Stürtz, a single farmer, arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 24 July 1766 aboard a barque named Georg under the command of Skipper Adam Bairnsfair.

Joh. Michael Stürtz (age 17¼) is recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

Michael Stürtz, a single man, is recorded on an appendix to the 1767 census of Nieder-Monjou in Household No. 109.

Schneider (Näb)

Hartmann Schneider, a farmer, his wife Anna, and children (Friedrich, age 20; Elisabeth, age 18; Martha, age 15) are recorded on an appendix to the 1767 census of Paulskaya in Household No. 116 along with orphan Johann Jost Lindemann (age 15). The 1767 census does not record a relationship between the Schneider and Lindemann families.

Friedrich Schneider and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Näb in Household No. Nb08.

The 1767 census records that Hartmann Schneider came from the German village of Marburg.

Reitz (Näb)

Jakob Reitz, a farmer, his wife Anna, and children (Anna, age 17½; Eva, age 16; Johann, age 11; Dietrich, age 9) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 24 July 1766 aboard a barque named Georg under the command of Skipper Adam Bairnsfair.

Jacob Reitz, his wife Anna Catharina, and children (Anna Maria, age 17½; Anna Maria [again], age 16¼; Joh. Friedrich, age 11; Joh. Dittrich, age 9) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that father Jacob died en route.

Menet*

Anton Menet, a single farmer, arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 24 July 1766 aboard a barque named Georg under the command of Skipper Adam Bairnsfair.

Anton Menne [sic] is recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

Anton Menet, a farmer, and his wife Katharina are recorded on an appendix to the 1767 census of Paulskaya in Household No. 120.

Anton Menet and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Näb in Household No. Nb16.

Lindemann

Orphan Johann Jost Lindemann (age 15) is recorded on an appendix to the 1767 census of Paulskaya in Household No. 116 along with Hartmann Schneider and his family. The 1767 census does not record a relationship between the Lindemann and Schneider families.

Johann Jost Lindemann and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Näb in Household No. Nb06.

The descendants of Johann Jost Lindemann are recorded on the 1834 census of Näb in Households No. 5, 11, & 28.

The 1767 census does not record from where Johann Jost Lindemann came.
