Scherscher*

Heinrich Rothler, a farmer, his wife Elisabeth, children (Marianna, age 4; Joseph, age 1), and [step-]son Philipp [Scherscher] (age 13) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the Die Neue Freiheit von Bremen under the command of Skipper Steingrawer.

Philipp Scherscher (age 13) is recorded on the 1767 census of Preuss in Household No. 75 along with his stepfather Heinrich Rothler.

The 1767 census does not record from where Philipp Scherscher came.

Kahler (Preuss)

Friedrich Kahler, a tobacco shopkeeper (Tabakskrämer), his wife Katharina, and daughter Susanna (age ¼) are recorded on the 1767 census of Preuss in Household No. 10. They had settled there on 12 May 1767.

The 1767 census records that Friedrich Kahler came from the German village of Niederstetten in the Kurmainz region.

Hubert (Brabander)

Johann Hubert, a single hunter (Jäger), settled in the Volga German colony of Preuss on 16 August 1767. He is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 135 along with a note that he relocated to the colony of Brabander in 1768.

The 1767 census records that Johann Hubert came from the German village of Messelgrube [?] in the Kurmainz region. [Messelgrube is believed to refer to the now abandoned quarry located just south of the village of Messel.]

Hecker

Peter Hecker, a farmer, and his wife Maria Margaretha are recorded on the 1767 census of Preuss in Household No. 72. They had settled there on 15 July 1767.

The 1767 census records that Peter Hecker came from the German Oberbrechen in the Kurtrier region.

Ehrhardt (Philippsfeld)*

Johann [Heinrich] Erhardt, a single farmer, arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 12 September 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.

Heinrich Erhard [sic] (age 20)  is recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

Orphan Heinrich Ehrhardt (age 20) is recorded on the 1767 census of Philippsfeld in Household No. 4 along with the Thomas Gose family. The 1767 census does not record a relationship between the Ehrhardt and Gose families.

Bock (Philippsfeld)*

Maria Bock (age 12) is recorded on the 1767 census of Philippsfeld in Household No. 12 along with her stepfather Martin Reis. They had settled there on 17 August 1767.

The 1767 census does not record from where Maria Bock came.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Bock family among the Volga German colonies.

Weber (Orlovskaya-2)*

Anna Maria Weber (age 13) is recorded on the 1767 census of Orlovskaya in Household No. 79 along with her stepfather Leonhard Schehler.

The 1767 census does not record from where Anna Maria Weber came.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Weber family among the Volga German colonies.

Senne*

Konrad Senne, a carpenter (Zimmermann), and his wife Elisabeth are recorded on the 1767 census of Orlovskaya in Household No. 60. They had settled there on 7 June 1767.

The 1767 census records that Konrad Senne came from the German village of Silkerode in the Schwarzburg region.

There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.

Schul(t)z (Orlovskaya)*

Johanna Sophia Schulz (age 15) is recorded on the 1767 census of Orlovskaya in Household No. 77 along with her stepfather Paul Gerlinger.

The 1767 census does not record from where Johanna Sophia Schulz came.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Schulz family among the Volga German colonies.
