Kohl (Ober-Monjou)

Adam Kohl and his wife Anna arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 September 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Gabriel Wild.

Adam Kohl, a hunter (Jäger), and his wife Dorothea are recorded on the 1767 census of Ober-Monjou in Household No. 27. They had settled there on 23 July 1767.

The 1767 census records that Adam Kohl came from the German village of Gräfenroda (Grafenreuth).

Höppner (Ober-Monjou)

Lorenz Höppner, a farmer, and his wife Maria settled in the Volga German colony of Ober-Monjou on 3 August 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 40.

In 1786, Lorenz Heppner and his family moved from Ober-Monjou to Schönchen.

Lorenz Höppner from Ober-Monjou and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Schönchen in Household No. Sn22.

The death of Andreas Höppner from Schönchen in 1827 is recorded on the 1834 census of Wittmann in Household No. 106. His son Ferdinand (age 12) is also recorded there.

Biehl (Ober-Monjou)

Friedrich Bühl, his wife Maria, and children (Katharina, age 6; Anna, age 4; Maria, age 2; Just, age 1½) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 September 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Gabriel Wild.

Friedrich Bühl, a farmer, his wife Maria, and daughters (Katharina, age 8; Margaretha, age 6; Elisabeth, age 4) are recorded on the 1767 census of Ober-Monjou in Household No. 44. They had settled there on 23 July 1767.

In 1784, Michael Biehl moved from Ober-Monjou to Zug.

Volmer (Pfeifer)*

Widow Anna Margaretha Volmer and her sons (Philipp Carl, age 12; Johann Wilhelm, age 5) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 9 August 1766 aboard the pink Novaya Dvinka under the command of Lieutenant Perepechin.

Wilhelm Volmer and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Pfeifer in Household No. Pf20.

The death of Wilhelm Volmer in 1830 is recorded on the 1834 census of Pfeifer in Household No. 159.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Anna Margaretha Volmer came from the German village of Pfalz.

Wilberger

In 1795, widow Gertrude Wilberger and her sons moved from Paulskaya to Semenovka.

Andreas Wilberger and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Semenovka in Household No. Se10.

Schäfer (Pfeifer-3)*

Johannes Schäfer, a farmer, his wife Barbara, and sons (Andreas, age 22; Michael, age 8) are recorded on the 1767 census of Pfeifer in Household No. 34. They had settled there on 15 June 1767.

The 1767 census records that Johannes Schäfer came from the German region of Würzburg.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Schäfer family among the Volga German colonies.
