Axt (Orlovskaya)

There are 2 Axt families recorded from Orlovskaya. Their relationship to each other, if any, requires additional research.

(1) Gottlieb Axt and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Orlovskaya in Household No. Or44.

(2) In 1790, Andreas Axt moved from Orlovskaya to Zürich. Georg Andreas Axt from Orlovskaya and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Zürich in Household No. Zr29.

[Andreas is erroneously recorded with surname Ochs in Zürich (Zr29).]

Roos

Johannes Roos and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Ober-Monjou in Household No. Om18.

Weissnicht

Gottfried Weissnicht (age 1) is recorded on the 1798 census of Ober-Monjou in Household No. Om11 along with the Anton Tuchscherer family. The 1798 census does not record a relationship between the Weissnicht and Tuchscherer families.

Schuvie (Ober-Monjou)*

Johannes Schuvie, a farmer, and his wife Anna settled in the Volga German colony of Ober-Monjou on 3 August 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 66.

The 1767 census records that Johannes Schuvie came from the German village of Niederbrechen.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Schuvie family among the Volga German colonies.

Seib (Ober-Monjou)

Johannes Seib & Anna Catharina Reis have the following children, baptized in Ockstadt: (1) Anna Maria, baptized 23 November 1750; (2) Christina, baptized 7 December 1753; (3) Juliana, baptized 19 May 1755; (4) Johanna Margaretha, baptized 19 December 1756; (5) Nicolaus, baptized 28 March 1761; (6) Catharina, baptized 8 February 1764; and (7) Dorothea Elisabeth, baptized 19 February 1766.

Waas*

Franz Waas, a stocking maker, his wife Anna, and children (Alexander [Castelli], age 19; Christoph [Castelli], age 16; Carolius, age 11; Henricus, age 9; Eva, age 6½; Anna, age 2½) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 12 September 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.

Weber (Ober-Monjou)

Christian Weber, a papermaker (Papiermacher), and his wife Margaretha settled in the Volga German colony of Ober-Monjou on 23 July 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 48 along with stepdaughter Gertrude Krück (age 12) and orphan Katharina Stuppert (age 16). The 1767 census does not record a relationship between the Weber and Stuppert families.

In 1797, Johann Joseph Weber moved from Ober-Monjou to Herzog. Johann Weber from Ober-Monjou and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Herzog in Household No. Hr14.
