Colmar is located in the historical region of Alsace-Lorraine and was located in France until 1871 when it became part of the German Empire. Following World War I, Colmar was returned to France.

Today, Schönenberg is administratively part of the municipality of Schönenberg-Kübelberg.

Since 1972, Miesau has been administratively part of the municipality of Bruchmühlbach-Miesau.

Oder / Öder*
Leonhard Öder (age 46), a farmer from Neulußheim, and his wife Maria Eleonora (age 49) arrived in the city of Schleswig on 17 March 1761. They swore allegiance on 24 July 1761. They were dismissed as colonists in May 1763, but remained with his son-in-law Johann Peter Knaus. [See Knaus Family.]

Before the end of the 18th Century, Herschberg belonged to Leiningen-Dagsburg. From 1798 to 1814, the Pfalz in which Herschberg is located was part of the French Republic.
Today, Herschberg is administratively part of the municipality of Thaleischweiler-Wallhalben.
