Schneider, Friedrich

Friedrich Schneider (Шнайдер Федор Федорович), son of Friedrich & Maria Schneider was born 3 March 1926 in Podsosnovo (Altai Krai, Siberia). He served as head of the local collective farm and eventually rose to national political prominence.

Mr. Schneider was elected as a deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR (1967-1971, 7th Convocation), a deputy of the Council of the Union of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR (1974-1979, 9th Convocation), and a deputy of the Council of Nationalities of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR (1984-1989, 11th Convocation)

Binedell, Martin

Martin Christian Johann Binedell, son of Johan & Marlene Binedell, is an Olympic swimmer representing South Africa. He was born 30 July 1995 in Pietermaritzburg. He competed in the men's 200-meter backstroke in the 2020 Tokoyo Olympics.

Binedell's Volga German ancestors came from the colony of Nieder-Monjou.

Reich (Louis)

Nikolaus Reich served in Napoleon's army and fought against the Russians.  He was captured by the Russians, and in 1812, was settled in the Volga German colony of Louis.

Nikolaus Reich from Germany married in Louis on 18 January 1815 to Katharina Peter, widow of Johannes Peter.

Nikolaus Reich and his family are recorded on the 1834 census of Louis in Household No. 12.
