Biography: 

Father Augustin Gabel, son of Jakob Gabel, was born in 1857. He study theolory at the Catholic Seminary in Saratov and was ordained 10 January 1882.

He served the Kamenka Parish from 1885 to 1894 and Husaren Parish from 1894-1895.  From 1895 to 1901, he served as administrator of the parish in Semyonovka in the Kuban Region, and from 1901 to 1904 was vicar in the village of Marienfeld in the Tavrichaskaya Gubernia (Crimea). From 3 December 1904 to 1911, he served the parish in Schuck. He served from 1911-1914 in Marinovka, but returned to the Volga region from 1917 to 1923 to serve as the parish priest in Rohleder. In 1925, he became began service to those in the parish of Luzern.

He was arrested in 1930 along with other clergy accused of sedition. He was convicted, and his relatives report that he was executed.
