Biography: 

Friedrich Schneider (Шнайдер Федор Федорович), son of Friedrich & Maria Schneider was born 3 March 1926 in Podsosnovo (Altai Krai, Siberia). He served as head of the local collective farm and eventually rose to national political prominence.

Mr. Schneider was elected as a deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR (1967-1971, 7th Convocation), a deputy of the Council of the Union of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR (1974-1979, 9th Convocation), and a deputy of the Council of Nationalities of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR (1984-1989, 11th Convocation)

By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of December 11, 1973, F. F. Schneider was awarded the title of Hero of Socialist Labor. He was also awarded the following medals: Order of Lenin (twice - in 1970 and 1973), Order of the Red Banner of Labor (1966), and Friendship of Peoples (1981).

He died in Podsosnovo on 30 March 1995.

His Volga German ancestors came from the colony of Kutter.
