There were originally thought to be 4 Schneider families that settled in Kutter, but research by Maggie Hein, the relationships among these families are now understood.

Christophel Schneider, son of Heinrich Schneider, and Elisabetha Emmerich, daughter of Andreas Emmerich, were married on 29 February 1736 in Langendiebach. Elisabetha Emmerich had been born on 8 July 1714 in Langendiebach. The couple had the following children, all born in Langendiebach: (1) Andreas, born 5 May 1738, baptized 9 May 1738; (2) Johannes Eucharius, born 24 August 1740, baptized 1 September 1740; (3) Johann Peter, born 25 February 1745, baptized 28 February 1745, died 16 March 1745; (4) Johann Philip, born 13 September 1746, baptized 18 September 1746, died 17 December 1746; (5) Maria Catharina, born 6 September 1748, baptized 8 September 1748, died 19 January 1749; (6) Elisabetha Catharina, born 7 January 1750, baptized 11 January 1750; (7) Anna Margaretha, born 24 October 1752, baptized 29 October 1752; and (8) Philip, born 16 July 1758, baptized 20 July 1758.   

On 25 March 1762, Andreas Schneider married Maria Magdalena [last name unknown] from Birstein.

Christoph and his descendants arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard the snow-brig named Christina under the command of Skipper Jacob Stappenberg.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Kutter on 8 July 1767 and is recorded there on the 1767 census:

(1) Widow Elisabeth Schneider is recorded on the 1767 census of Kutter in Household No. 8.

(2) Oldest son Andreas, his wife Magdalena, and daughter Anna Elisabeth (age 4) are recorded on the 1767 census of Kutter in Household No. 3.

(3) Son Johannes and his wife Maria Magdalena are recorded on the 1767 census of Kutter in Household No. 6.

(4) Daughter [Anna] Elisabeth Catharina Schneider is recorded on the 1767 census of Kutter in Household No. 7 along with her new husband Balthasar Ickes.

(5) Daughter Anna Margaretha has not been located on the 1767 census of Kutter, but she is recorded on the 1798 census of Kutter in Household No. Kt46 married to Kazimir Nazarenus.

(6) Youngest son Philipp has not been located on the 1767 census of Kutter, but he is recorded on the 1798 census of Kutter in Household No. Kt49.

Philipp Schneider from Kutter is recorded on the 1811 census of Kukkus in Household No. 58 along with a note that he had arrived in Kukkus from Kutter in 1800.

Philipp Schneider and his family are recorded on the 1834 census of Kukkus in Household No. 52.

The Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that the members of this Schneider family came from the German region of Isenburg.
