Discussion & Documentation

Jacob Miltenberger married Anna Maria Schmitt on 8 July 1755 in the Catholic Church of Alsheim, a village between Mainz and Worms. They had one son, Johann Georg, who was baptized on 5 October 1756 in the Alsheim church.

Jakob Mildenberger, a farmer, his wife Anna, and son Johann (age 10½) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 13 September 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Johann Grapp.

Jacob Miltenberger and his family emigrated to Russia and arrived in the Volga German colony of Kautz on 21 August 1767. They are recorded there in the 1767 Census in Household No. 24.

Jacob Mildenberger, his wife Anna, and son Johann [Georg] (age 10) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

Johann Georg Mildenberger and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Kautz in Household No. Kz08 along with his mother in Household No. Kz08.

A daughter of Johann Georg Mildenberger, Sabina Mildenberger, moved to Brabander in 1797. She is recorded on the 1798 census of Brabander in Household No. Bn17.

[Johann] Georg Mildenberger and his sons are recorded on the 1811 census of Kautz in Household No. 8 along with a note that they relocated to the colony of Rothammel in 1801.

Peter Mildenberger, son of Georg Mildenberger, is recorded on the 1811 census of Kautz in Household No. 36 along with a note that he relocated to the colony of Kamenka in 1811. However, Peter Mildenberger does not appear on the 1834 census of Kamenka, so he either died there before 1816 or moved elsewhere before 1816.

[Johann] Georg Mildenberg[er] and his sons are recorded on the 1811 census of Rothammel in Household No. 36.

[Johann] Georg Mildenberger and his sons Heinrich and Konrad are recorded on the 1834 census of Rothammel in Household No. 30.
