The marriage of Johann Georg Weitzel to Anna Elisabeth Mühl is recorded in Büdingen on 14 March 1766 along with the marriage of Johann Wilhelm Opfer to Eleonore Weitzel, also on 14 March 1766. [See Opfer Family.]
Johann Weitzel, a farmer, and his wife Elisabeth arrived from Lübeck via Reval [Estonia] at the port of Oranienbaum on 27 May 1766 aboard a pinque named Слон (Slon - Elephant in Russian) under the command of Lieutenant Sergey Panov.
Johann Georg Weitzel, a farmer, and his wife Elisabeth are recorded on the 1767 census of Frank in Household No. 11.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann Weitzel came from the German region of Darmstadt. The 1767 census records that Johann Georg Weitzel came from the German village of Stengerat [Stangenrod] in the Hessen-Darmstadt region.
