Kilian Bretthauer (age 34), a craftsman (Handwerker), his wife Barbara (age 28), and son Melchior (age ½) are recorded on the 1767 census of Walter in Household No. 3. They had arrived in Walter on 25 August 1767.
They are recorded on the 1798 census in Walter in Household No. Wt057.
The 1767 census records that Kilian Bretthauer came from the German village of Sterbfritz in the region of Hessen.
