Johann Jakob Krug, a farmer, his wife Magdalena, and children (Louisa, age 17½; Johann [Jakob], age 13; Dorothea, age 10¼; Friedrika, age 4) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 9 June 1766 aboard a ship named Die Perle under the command of Skipper Gerhardt Hermann Thomsen.
The parents did not survive the journey between Oranienbaum and Saratov. The children settled in the Volga German colony of Kratzke on 7 August 1766 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 9.
Jakob Krug and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Kratzke in Household No. Kr11.
In 1821, Johann Michael Krug, son of Jakob Krug, moved from Kratzke to Dietel. Michael Krug and his family are recorded on the 1834 census of Dietel in Household No. 152.
Georg Heinrich Krug from Kratzke and his family are recorded on the 1857 Ährenfeld Census.
