Johann Kaufmann, a weaver, arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.
He, his wife Elisabeth, and their children (Anna Maria, age 5½; Johannes, age 3) are recorded recorded on a supplement to the 1775 census of Schilling in Household No. 3.
