Jean Pasqual, a milliner (Hutmacher), and his family settled in the Volga German colony of Franzosen on 26 August 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 55.
In 1793, Peter Pasqual moved from Franzosen to Husaren.
In 1796, Johannes Pasqual moved from Franzosen to Rothammel.
The 1834 census of Husaren (Household No. 14) records that Peter Basgall moved from Husaren to Ober-Monjou in 1825.
The 1834 census of Husaren (Household No. 21) records that Anton Basgall moved from Husaren to Brabander.
Lorenz Basgall from Husaren and his family are recorded on the 1834 census of Seelmann in Household No. 81 along with a note that he had arrived in Seelmann from Husaren in 1825.
Over the years, the spelling of this name was Germanized to Basgall (and variations thereof).
