Anton Barbier, a single farmer, arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 12 September 1766 aborad an English frigate under the command of Skipper Adam Beerfeier.
Anton Barbier is recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
He arrived in the Volga German colony of Bearegard on 3 August 1767 and is recorded there on an appendix to the 1767 Beauregard census in Household No. 85 with a note that he moved to the colony of Ober-Monjou in 1768.
In 1786, Anton Barbie moved from Ober-Monjou to Hussenbach. In 1791, Anton Barbie and his children moved from Hussenbach to Degott.
Georg Philipp Barbie, son of Anton Barbie, and his family are recorded on the 1834 census of Degott in Household No. 6 along with a note that his nephew Johann Heinrich Barbie moved to Rothammel in 1834.
The 1767 census records that Anton Barbier came from the French village of Vandelans.
