Michael Fromm, a farmer, his wife Barbara, and his son Franz arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 September 1766 aboard the snow-brig Die Frau Dietrika under the command of Skipper Joachim Friedrich Luhn.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Hussenbach. Son Franz Fromm is recorded there on the 1798 census in Household No. Hs104.

Franz Fromm and his sons are recorded on the 1811 census of Hussenbach in Household No. 104.

The death of Franz Fromm in 1821 is recorded on the 1834 census of Hussenbach in Household No. 97.

The sons of Franz Fromm and their families are recorded on the 1857 census of Hussenbach in Household No. 106.

Brothers Johannes, Georg, & Jakob Fromm from Hussenbach and their families are recorded on the 1857 census of Neu-Hussenbach.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Michael Fromm came from the German region of Mainz.
