Discussion & Documentation

Philipp Distel, a farmer, and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 13 September 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Johann Grapp.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Rothammel. In 1791, Franz Distel moved from Rothammel to Franzosen.

Between 1816 and 1834, Franz Distel and his family moved from Franzosen to Husaren.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Philipp Distel came from the German region of Pfalz.
