Mathias Brecht, his wife Eva, and children (Konrad, age 3½; Eva Katharina, age ½) immigrated to Denmark (Schleswig-Holstein) arriving in the city of Schleswig on 9 May 1761.
In July 1763, they deserted the Danish colonies and joined the migration to Russia. They are recorded on the 1775 census of Schilling in Household No. 11.
The Eichhorns record that Mathias Brecht came from the German village of Spöck, Oberamt Karlsruhe, Baden-Durlach.
