Andreas Schmidt, a farmer, his wife Eva Katharina, and their children (Hans Leonhard, age 19; Johann Georg, age 16; Gertrude, age 13; Hans/Johannes, age 11) immigrated to Denmark (Schleswig-Holstein) arriving in Fridericia on 3 October 1760.
They are last recorded in the Danish colonies on 26 April 1763.
They joined the migration to Russia and are recorded on the 1775 census of Schilling in Households No. 37 & 38.
Johannes Schmidt from Schilling is recorded on the 1811 census of Fischer in Household No. 42.
The Eichhorns record that Andreas Schmidt came from the German village of Michelstadt, Grafschaft Erbach.
