The parish register of Eich records that Christoph & Anna Barbara Kimmel had 3 children: (1) Johann Georg, born 7 September 1753; (2) Maria Elisabetha, born 17 February 1757; and (3) Anna Margaretha, born 4 September 1760.
Christoph died, and Anna Barbara remarried on 6 June 1764 to Conrad Oswald, son of Johannes Oswald & Maria Elisabetha Ruff. They had a daughter, Anna Maria, born 22 March 1765 in Eich.
Konrad Oswald, a farmer, his wife, and the Kimmel step-children arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 21 July 1766 aboard the snow-brig Mercurius under the command of Skipper Christian Heinrich Abelßen. They settled in the Volga German colony of Kautz on 20 July 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 12.
Georg Kimmel is recorded on the 1798 census of Merkel in Household No. Mr12 along with his son Johann Georg Philipp (age 9).
The death of Georg Philipp Kimmel in 1821 is recorded on the 1834 census of Merkel in Household No. 46. His two surviving daughters are also recorded there.
The 1767 census records that both of these Oswald families came from the German village of Eich in the Pfalz.
There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
