Discussion & Documentation

Christian Bergmann, a farmer, and his wife Margaretha settled in the Volga German colony of Paulskaya on 7 June 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 55 along with their 1-week-old son Konrad.

The 1767 census records that Christian Bergmann came from the German village of Brücken in the Dessau region.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Bergmann family among the Volga German colonies.
