Joseph Wolf, a maker of braid (Posamenter), his wife Margaretha, and children (Anna, age 11; Christina, age 4; Johann, age 2) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 September 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Franz Nikolaus Schröder.
Joseph Wolff [sic], his wife Margaretha, and daughters (Anna, age 11; Christina, age 4) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Katharinenstadt on 3 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 163 along with his new wife Margaretha Keifer and son Franz (age 6-weeks).
The 1767 census records that Joseph Wolf came from the German region of Zweibrücken.
