Joseph Weis [sic], a farmer, his wife Apollonia, and children (Christoph, age 9; Heinrich, age 4) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
Joseph Miess [sic], his wife Apollonia, and children (Henricus, age 13; Christoph, age 4) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
Widow Apollonia Metz [sic] and her sons (Johann Heinrich, age 11; Christoph, age 6) are recorded on the 1767 census of Hölzel in Household No. 8. They had settled there on 11 September 1767. Her husband, Joseph Metz, had been murdered by strangers during the move from Saratov to Hölzel.
In 1788, Heinrich Meis moved from Brabander to Katharinenstadt.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Joseph Weis [sic] came from the German region of Würzburg. The 1767 census records that Appolonia Meis came from the German village of Ochsenfurt in the Würzburg region.
