Johannes Adam Ihl married 6 August 1741 at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Orb to Maria Elisabetha Acker, daughter of Johannes Adam Acker & Anna Catharina Desch. Maria Elisabetha Acker had been born and baptized 28 March 1722 in Orb.
The baptisms of the following children born to Johannes Adam Ihl & Maria Elisabetha Acker are recorded in the parish register of St. Martin's Catholic Church in Orb: (1) Anna Maria, born 6 June 1742, died 6 August 1742; (2) Johannes Adam, born 5 June 1743, died 26 July 1743; (3) Catharina, born 12 June 1744; (4) Philipp, born 19 December 1746; (5) Johannes, born 1 April 1749; (6) Johannes [again], born 2 April 1750; (7) Anna Maria, born 22 December 1752, died in infancy; (8) Anna Maria, born 6 August 1755; (9) Elisabeth, born 1 October 1758; and (10) Johann, born 1 October 1764, died in infancy.
Surviving members of the family arrived together from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 2 August 1766 aboard an English frigate named Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.
(1) Adam Ihl, a farmer, his wife Elisabeth, and children (Anna, age 12; Elisabeth, age 10; Adam, age 5¼) arrived in Oranienbaum.
Adam Heil (age 48), a farmer, his wife Elisabeth, and children (Maria, age 12; Elisabeth, age 9; Johann Adam, age 5) are recorded in Household No. 59 on a list of Beauregard recruits appended to the 1767 Volga German census.
They settled in the colony of Luzern in 1768.
In 1791, Adam Heil moved from Luzern to Ober-Monjou.
Adam Heil from Luzern and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Ober-Monjou in Household No. Om71.
The death of Adam Heil in 1822 is recorded on the 1834 census of Ober-Monjou in Household No. 91.
Adam Ihl and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Zug in Household No. Zg30.
The death of Johann Adam Ihl in 1827 is recorded on the 1834 census of Zug in Household No. 50.
(2) Katharina [Ihl] and her husband Philipp Rehberger arrived in Oranienbaum.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Zug. They are recorded in 1767 on a list of Beauregard recruits in Household No. 76.

(3) Philipp Ihl, a single farmer, arrived in Oranienbaum.
Philipp Heil, a farmer, and his wife Katharina are recorded in Household No. 60 on a list of Beauregard recruits appended to the 1767 Volga German census.
They settled in the colony of Luzern in 1768.
Philipp Ihl and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Zug in Household No. Zg21.
The death of Adam Ihl, son of Philipp Ihl, in 1829 is recorded on the 1834 census of Zug in Household No. 104.
Both the Oranienbaum passenger list records that these Heil/Ihl families came from the German region of Mainz. The 1767 census records that they came from the German village of Orb.
