Baker, Ron

Ronald Delaine Baker, son of Neil & Ranae Baker, was born 30 March 1993 in Hays, Kansas.  He grew up in Utica, Kansas, and played basketball for the Wichita State University Shockers (2012-2016).  He joined the NBA New York Knicks in August 2016 and also played for the Washington Wizards. In August 2019, Ron announced that he was going to play for CSKA Moscow.

In an article published 24 August 2021, the KWCH12 revealed that Mr. Baker was no longer playing professional basketball and had joined Ascension Via Christi’s Strategy and Business Development department.

Götz (Messer)

There were two Götz men who settled in the Volga German colony of Messer. They both arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.

(1) Conrad Götz, son of Johannes Götz, was born on 27 February 1740 in Mittel-Gründau. Conrad Götz and Anna Margaretha Hartwig, the daughter of Michael Hartwig, were married in Hain-Gründau on 13 September 1764.

Preisendorf

Conrad Preisendorf, the son of Johann Heinrich Preisendorf of Leisenwald, married in nearby Spielberg on 24 December 1747 to Eva Elisabeth Werth, the daughter of Johann Heinrich Werth.  She had been baptized on 7 April 1745 in Spielberg. They had one child, Anna Catharina Preisendorf, baptized on 10 February 1765 in Spielberg.

The family immigrated to Russia arriving at the port of Oranienbaum on 8 August 1766 on board the pink Cargo under the command of Lieutenant Moses Davydov.

Eichhorn (Huck)*

Conrad Eichhorn and his first wife, Elisabeth, had four children baptized in Wächtersbach: (1) Catharina Margaretha, baptized 14 September 1740; (2) Dorothea Amalia, baptized 16 September 1742; (3) Henrietta Louisa, baptized 20 December 1744; and (4) Anna, baptized 4 June 1750.

Michel (Huck-1)

Eloiß and Anna Barbara Michel had the following children, each born in the German village of Fischborn: (1) Johann Adam, born 27 June 1759 and (2) Eva, born 6 June 1763. Their baptisms are recorded in the parish records of Unterreichenbach. The family immigrated to Russia.

Johann [Eloiß] Michel, a farmer, his wife Anna, and children (Johann [Adam], age 10; and Anna, age 4] arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard the snow-brig named Christina under the command of Skipper Jacob Stappenberg.

Schlotthauer (Huck)

The marriage of Johann Nicolaus Schlotthauer, son of Johann Valentin Schlotthauer, and Susanna Gauss, daughter of Andreas Gauss is recorded in the parish register of Ilbeshausen on 30 July 1743. Their son Johannes was baptized there on 19 November 1745.

The marriage of Johannes Schlotthauer and Anna Maria Eckert is recorded on 9 April 1766 in the parish register of Spielberg.
