Baumann (Huck)*

Bernhardt and Anna Bauman had four children whose baptisms are recorded in the Spielberg parish register: (1) Maria Elisabeth, baptized 26 December 1755, died 2 May 1756; (2) Anna Elisabeth, baptized 3 April 1757, died 26 December 1758; (3) Eva Elisabeth, baptized 4 February 1759; and (4) Anna Catharina, baptized 20 November 1763.

Bernhard Baumann, a farmer, his wife Anna, and children (Philipp, age 15; Eva, age 8) arrived from Lübeck at the port in Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard the snow-brig named Christina under the command of Skipper Jacob Stappenberg.

Glanz

Johann Michael Glanz, son of Johannes Glanz (born 21 September 1662 in Lorbach), was baptized 26 March 1706 in the German village of Lorbach.  He married 24 February 1735 in nearby Diebach-Haag to Esther Jacobine Sorberger, daughter of Johann Jacob Sorberger, from Vonhausen.

Johann Michael Glanz & Esther Jacobine Sorberger had at least three sons: (1) Johann Jacob, baptized 20 February 1746 in Büdingen; (2) Johannes, baptized 28 September 1748; and (3) Abraham Georg, baptized 5 May 1754, died 22 April 1757.

Albrecht (Norka)

There are two Albrecht families that settled in the Volga German colony of Norka. Their relationship to each other, if any, needs additional research.

(1) Johann Jacob Albrecht, son of Johann Peter & Dorothea Albrecht of Pferdsbach, was baptized on 23 August 1711 in Wolf. He married on 21 February 1737 in Wolf to Anna Maria Düdolff, daughter of Johann Caspar Düdolff [also recorded as Diedolf]. She had been baptized in Wolf on 8 September 1715.

Kembel / Kempel (Kolb)

Johannes Kempel, son of Conrad Kempel, and Anna Clara Roth, daughter of Caspar Roth, were married 9 February 1750 in Rückingen. The parish register of Rückingen records seven children: (1) Anna Clara, born 26 August 1751; (2) Johann Christoph, born in January 1754, died 19 March 1754; (3) Johann Christoph, born 24 May 1755, died 7 February 1763; (4) Johann Georg, born 6 May 1757; (5) Johann Caspar, born 10 May 1760; (6) Anna Amalia Wilhemina, born 3 July 1762; and (7) Catharina Elisabetha, born 27 February 1766.

Altvater

Steinberger's list of those immigrating to Russia from Leisenwald includes the Johannes Altvater family that settled in the Volga German colony of Kutter.

Johannes Altvater and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard the snow-brig named Christina under the command of Skipper Jacob Stappenberg.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Kutter on 8 July 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 Census in Household No. 17.

Lohrei / Lohrey (Kutter)

Steinberger's list of those immigrating to Russia from Leisenwald includes the Melchior Lohrey family that settled in the Volga German colony of Kutter.

Melchior Lohrey and his wife Katharina arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard the snow-brig named Christina under the command of Skipper Jacob Stappenberg.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Kutter on 8 July 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 16.

Loos (Kutter)

Steinberger's list of those immigrating to Russia from Leisenwald includes the Loos families that settled in the Volga German colony of Kutter.

Several Loos families immigrated to Russia arrving from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard the snow-brig named Christina under the command of Skipper Jacob Stappenberg.

(1) Johann Peter Loos, a farmer, and his wife Katharina arrived in Oranienbaum.
