Ihly, Joseph

Joseph Ihly, son of Theobald Ihly & Gertrude Boehm, was born 5 June 1851 in Karlsruhe (Odessa District). He died (date unknown) in Nikolayev.

He studied theology at the Roman Catholic Seminary in Saratov and was ordained 29 June 1875.

He served the parish of Rothammel from 1875 to 1 August 1876. From 16 September 1876 to 21 August 1880, he served the parish in Katharinental. From 19 August 1880 to 30 August 1903, he served the parish in Speier (Odessa District).

No further information is known about him.

Huppenbauer, Johannes

Johannes Huppenbauer, son of Johann Bartholomäus Huppenbauer & Anna Friederike Ludmann, was born 9 May 1816 in Untertürkheim in Württemburg.

He studied theology at the Basel Missionary Society and was ordained 2 October 1841.

His first marriage was on 3 October 1841 in Basel to Maria Dorothea Salathé (born 6 February 1816 in Basel). She died and Pastor Huppenbauer remarried in 1849 in the colony of Sarepta with Henriette Karoline Glitsch, who was born on 22 November 1827 in Tystrup-Christiansfeld, Schleswig.

Huber, Johann Samuel

Johann Samuel Huber, son of Joseph Huber (a cooper) and Anna Maria Ferenbach, was born 1778 in Mahlberg near Freiburg in Baden (Germany). He was baptized 20 December 1778 in Mahlberg. He died 30 January 1858 in Moscow.

On 23 February 1808, he married Johanna Luise Wigand in Sarepta. She was born 27 December 1788 in Moscow, the daughter of Johannes Wigand, a professor and preacher at the Brethren congregation in St. Petersburg, and Sarah Dorothea Ferber. She died in November 1868 in Moscow.

Hopp, John H.

Pastor Hopp was born in Russia on 14 December 1869 in the colony of Frank and came to the United States at the age of 19. He married on 2 February 1889 to Charlotte Miller. He later married Lena Burkhardt, widow of Henry Traut.

Hölz, Karl Theodor

Karl Theodor Hölz, son of Pastor Franz Karl Hölz & Louise Amalie Jahn, was born 29 November 1837 in Warenburg.

He studied theology at the University of Dorpat [in Estonia] and was ordained in the 5th Sunday after Easter on 5 May 1863.

Following his ordination, Pastor Hölz served the Volga German congregations in Weizenfeld (1863-1883) and Reinhard (1883-1896).

He went to St. Petersburg in 1896 where he died on 7 November 1897.
